??Facial gua sha is an ancient Chinese massage technique designed to relieve tension in the muscles of the face, boost blood circulation and encourage lymphatic drainage to banish bloating.
??Gua sha is intended to address stagnant energy, called chi. Rubbing the skin?s surface is thought to help break up this energy, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.
??Cleanse and dry face and hands nicely.
??Apply facial oil(anywhere from 4-10 drops), covering?the face and neck. Don’t make the face too oily either.
??Apply oil starting on the forehead, moving down in the direction of draining lymph fluid. This activates movement in skin and tissues, and it?s a nice prep before the gua sha.
??Warm your gua sha tool by slightly by rubbing it between your hands. This also greases the tool up a bit so it doesn?t pull on your skin in the areas that didn?t receive as much oil
??Gua sha is generally performed on a person?s face, back, buttocks, neck, arms, and legs.

??Avoid this technique if you?ve had any surgery in the last six weeks.

??Avoid gua sha over cystic acne, pimples and open lesions.

??People who are taking blood thinners or have clotting disorders aren?t good candidates for gua sha.
